Ingredients:

·       Butter

·       Marshmallows’

·       Rice Krispie Cereal

·       Canned Frosting

Preparation:

The smell of the good Halloween Bat Treats on the day before Halloween. Each Halloween my mom would prepare them for Halloween day to hand them out to the kids that come knocking at our door saying trick or treat. The day of preparation my mom goes to the store to buy the ingredients. My mom had to go to get butter, one pack of marshmallows’,rice krispie cereal and one can of frosting.

The day my mom was planning on going to the store I asked could I go with her. My mom answered, “yes”. I was so excited to here my mom say I could go to the store with her. My mom told me that it was going to be easy getting the ingredients. After we finished getting the ingredients, we headed back home.

When we got into the house we started to prepare the Halloween Bat Treats.

My mouth started to water as I thought about the treats from the previous year that my mom had made them.

My mom and I played domino’s and drank punch for a while as my mother let the butter melt into the pan. My mom got up and poured the marshmallows into the pan until they were completely melted. Then, she added the Kellogg’s Rice Krispies cereal into the butter and marshmallows. The ingredients started forming into rice krispie treats.

I said "mom, those look very delicious.” She replied, “thanks.” I told my mom that those look much better from the ones that she made last year. They were much bigger and they were filled with butter. Makes them slide right on down.

The next day, which was Halloween, my mom made my very own batch of treats. I was so happy to have my own. I was eating them all day. My brother and sister would ask for some of  them and I would say no. They were really mad at me.

As night time arrived someone came knocking at the door. I opened it. It was a little boy with a pumpkin head in his hand saying “trick or treat.” I dropped a Halloween Bat Treat wrapped in plastic into his pumpkin. He said thanks. More and more people started to arrive at our door. We started getting low. My mom hurried to the kitchen to make more. She got all of the ingredients out of the fridge. My mom made two baskets of  treats. Instead of giving everybody one she gave them two treats. We still had plenty left over and that was the end of our Halloween.
